Tomaree Mature Age Computer Club (or TMACC for short) started in May 2001 and currently has a membership of about 40. We meet on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month with a morning session from 10 am to 12 noon, on each meeting date. TMACC uses a meeting room that is part of the Library complex in Salamander Bay, New South Wales, Australia. Our morning session usually starts with a short video tutorial to stimulate interest in some aspect of computer useage. We do not burden the proceedings with formal readings of minutes, motions or such like. Unlike most other computer clubs, we do not have lectures, paper handouts or tests. Members are encouraged to bring to our meetings any current problems or difficulties being experienced. The various options, fixes and work-arounds are canvassed amongst the members present, so that problems or difficulties are solved. Learning aids include video tutorials covering a wide range of software and hardware as well as discs of freeware software to try and use. The last hour of each morning session is taken in the computer room of the local Neighbourhood Centre demonstrating the installation & use of software. Fees We have an initial joining fee of $AUS30.00 - then an annual subscription of $AUS20.00 - these monies are used to meet meeting room rents, the purchase of blank media and incidentals.
